Q. What will a Music Together^® class feel like?

Music Together is 45 minutes of PURE FUN !

Music Together is a fun family music programme for children ages birth through kindergarten. Children participate at their own level and when they're ready; there is no pressure to participate or perform. Children are not required to sit still, rather they are encouraged to respond spontaneously to the musical environment. Parent participation is essential, regardless of the parent's musical ability. Their active participation is crucial in creating the stimulating musical environment that all children need to develop their musical intelligence.

During class we sing, do rhythmic chants like nursery rhymes said in a rhythm, we do creative movement, from finger plays to large motor movement activities, and we do instrument play. (The play along especially is a lot of fun!)

Q. Why Mixed Ages?

Educators have known for some time that children respond particularly well in a mixed-aged situation. Older children often love the chance to lead and younger children are often inspired by seeing children not too much older than themselves respond to music.

Activities are parent-child oriented and not child-child so it is not necessary to have kids of the same age. Also, children of the same age are not necessarily at the same stage of musical development. Having mixed ages classes contributes to the fun and non-pressurised feeling of our classes since there is no comparison of development – musical or otherwise. It also means that you can bring more than one child!!
